Doll world magazine is dedicated to discerning doll artists whose mission is to create beautiful, unique, authentic and exciting doll fashions. Each issue contains a complete, valuable pull-out pattern, profiles of the world's most talented doll costumers, at least three costuming projects, Q&A, national show calendar and
more. It is excellent with high quality graphics and well written feature articles. It is a pleasure just to browse through and for the more adventurous, each issue includes 1 to 3 pull out patterns as well as directions for accessories.
The patterns are not easy and shouldn't be, since the costumes are elaborate but they are so well explained that you can follow them. The magazine covers about 2 hundred years of doll costuming and has a variation of sizes within each time
period. Mainly used patterns by leading manufacturers, which by the time you have bought two or three you would have paid for this
magazine which gives you lots more designs to choose from.
The Magazine gives you plenty of ideas and you can adapt pattern pieces together to create an outfit all of your own. It also gives you tips on making accessories and suppliers of items needed to complete your outfit.
The only thing against this magazine for some people may be the fact that you have to enlarge the pattern pieces to scale. This is an exciting magazine with some beautiful designs that are well presented. The only down side, and for me it was a big
one is that after purchasing the magazine, you have to enlarge the patterns on a copier. Since this will make the enlargement larger than a standard page, it takes either extra large paper (expensive) or several copies to get the entire pattern. This adds considerably to the price of the magazine.
